A thorough EFA (Editorial Freelancers Association) course offered by Lou Piccolo that outlines children's picture book editing. Feedback provided over multiple assignments confirmed the understanding of developmental editing in both prose and rhyming books. The course covered character development, story flow, and plot consistencies. We learned how to identify problems in the manuscript and how to ensure the illustrations were complimenting the story. Poem scansion, metering, and rhyme crimes were studied in depth.
